Personality, Problems and Pain

In this chapter, we seek to  make the reader more aware of personalities and how they affect relationships.

One purpose of “Supernatural Love” is to help the reader understand the different personalities and how they affect relationships. In a marriage, or in any relationship, if you are unaware of how your partner is different than you are,  it can lead to a life of frustration and no growth in the relationship, as well as destructive behavior that can ultimately destroy the relationship. If you can learn to recognize the differences and accept them, it allows you to accept the person, with their personality and gifts, so you can move forward in the relationship, while you are encouraging them and growing with them.

In our own lives, this has been a huge theme. Proverbs 22:6 says “Train a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not turn away from it.” That is; “According to his bent.”  When you are aware of the uniqueness of God’s design in your child, you can train them according to the specific design he placed in them. This is also true in our adult relationships: not in training, but in interaction. When we are operating according to our personalities and giftings, things tend to run much more smoothly. This is not to say that we cannot step outside of our comfort zones and grow, but the entire body is made up of individual parts that are made for a specific purpose, and acting according to God’s design always brings peace and joy.
